The sounds of the Civilisation Soundscapes 5.1 Library have been recorded and created with special care towards a "clean" soundscape that fits into one specific category and is not "polluted" by noise that would fit into another category. For example, sounds labeled "Traffic/Heavy" should only contain traffic noise, while nature sounds should not be polluted by passing airplanes and other disturbances. This is, however, almost impossible to achieve in modern times, and therefore a certain tolerance towards occasional "uninvited" noise is required.
The separated sounds can be easily combined; mix different files together and create unique sounds of your own.
Important: Conventional mono and stereo files can easily be combined with the Surround Sounds, giving you even more options to produce unique, realistic soundscapes.
This technique, by the way, is known as Layering Sounds.
