-Multi-client users that require a single shared database
-Facilities requiring security
-Those that have more than 100,000 asset to manage will see performance improvements with Server
-Basic Server EUR 760.00
Requirements: Soundminer can be expanded in a number of ways, however, in order to consider Server options, a facility must have at least one Macintosh Soundminer V4Pro License or one Soundminer XP license. ServerX is not a search engine but a series of components that extends the functionality of your attached and authorized Soundminer V4Pro or SoundminerXP licenses.
-MySQL 4/5 installed on a Macintosh or Windows machine
-Soundminer Daemon or Enterprise Daemon - requires Macintosh Tiger or higher.
-Soundminer Configuration package for MySQL optimizations
If you are running an all Windows environment, it means you will need at least one Tiger equipped Macintosh somewhere on the network to use either of the above Daemons. You can operate without the Daemon but you will have to use MySQL for all permissions as under V3 and no directory support. Only Soundminer V4Pro licenses and SoundminerXP licenses are capable of server functionality.

Those facilities requiring extra layers of security, shared centralized databasing and profiling and those facilities that require projects to be shared by their groups should invest in Soundminer Server. As well, those users trying to manage more than 100,000 files should also see marked improvements in performance by using Soundminer Server.
Features: There are two levels of Server when using the SM Daemon: Basic and Enterprise. The Basic package allows connected users to share centralized databases, share spotting favourites, centralize their profiles and provide simple librarian user permissions. The basic package is ideal for those facilities that do not require advanced connectivity to an existing Active or Open Directory and extra layers of security. It is simple to set up and quickly allows all your attached V4Pro and when SMXP delivers its v4 version, XP licenses to share common databasing, spotting panels and profiles.
For higher end secure connectivity, a user can add the Enterprise module. Enterprise Server allows a facility to tie into their Active, Open or LDAP directory for user permissions, advanced Spotting panel sharing(separated groups and projects visible only to specific users), HTTP support and security (the ability to connect without mounting drives) and more advanced controls over permisssions.
